Turn off measurement

This site counts page views without cookies and without storing your IP address. If you don’t want to be part of that either, you can switch off the counting here. You don’t need to enter anything or sign in anywhere.

What happens

1. This browser gets an entry named wdm_a_off. The measurement script reads it and stops immediately, before it collects anything. The entry stays in this browser until you delete it here or through your browser’s own settings.
2. On our server, we note that nothing should be counted from your current internet connection. What’s stored is not your IP address but an irreversible check value derived from it. This note expires after 30 days and renews for as long as you keep visiting this site from the same connection.

What this doesn’t cover

The browser entry only applies to this browser on this device. A second browser, a private window, or another device each need their own visit to this page.

The note on the server applies to your current internet connection. If you switch networks — from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or to a different location — or your provider assigns you a new IP address, it no longer applies there.

And because more than one person can be behind a single IP address — in a household, an office, or on a mobile network — this note can also hide the visits of other people on the same network.

The simpler way

If your browser sends the “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, not a single event is collected in the first place — on every page, with no note on our server at all. In that case you don’t need this page.
